Kikuletwa (Chemka) Hot Springs
Kikuletwa (Chemka) Hot Springs
$140 $100 $95 $90 $85 $80 $75 $70 Details

Maji Moto, known locally as Kikuletwa Hotsprings, is paradisiac oasis amidst the Tanzanian savannah, offers captivating, Bounty-styled views, crystal-clean water and dense vegetation around. Located in 2-hour drive from Moshi (Tanzania) – the main climbing hub of the region – Chemka Hot Springs is the best place to visit after a Kilimanjaro hike or a safari adventure.

Chemka oasis is a unique phenomenon – it is the only place in Tanzania (and most likely in the whole East Africa), where the groundwater actively interacted with geothermal sources, forming a number of small lakes with warm, never-stagnating water, which purity is not inferior to the best Dominican or Maldivian resorts.

Feel free to contact our experts to know more about Chemka Hot Springs adventure!

Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Farm Tour
Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Farm Tour
$140 $105 $99 $95 $91 $88 $85 $83 Details
A tour to Materuni Village and Waterfalls is a great way to spend a day away from the bustle of town life. The walk to Materuni Waterfall offers a glimpse into the nature of Tanzania allowing you either to prepare your body for the forthcoming climb to Kilimanjaro or ease your muscles after the climb.

The Materuni Waterfall tour starts with a walk through the area adjacent to the waterfall, rich in beautiful natural scenery of Tanzania. It is an opportunity to see how local fruit like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas grow, as well as learn some of the local history, traditions, village economy, agricultural and cultural life. When you get to the waterfall, you can refresh yourself in the natural pool, so swimsuits will come in handy!

The tour will continue with a visit to the local village lying in the coffee plantations. The villagers will demonstrate the process of coffee farming and guide you through the preparation of coffee from a bean to a cup. Sing and dance along with the Chaga people as they are grinding, roasting and boiling the beans. When the coffee is ready, villagers will serve lunch - a national Chagga meal.
Arusha Safari
Arusha Safari
$745 $444 $343 $293 $263 - - - Details

The Arusha National Park is the only park in Northern Tanzania where you may experience a walking safari. Safari in the Arusha National Park means a light trekking with a ranger. You will walk in the tropical forest and watch animals outside the car. The most amazing thing is that you will be able to walk up to the crater of Meru (the second highest peak of Tanzania and the fifth highest peak of Africa) which is located right in the park. This is a fantastic experience, worth adding to your Tanzanian adventures!

After the walking safari, a jeep will drive you to the furthest part of the park – the Momela lakes where you can see pink flamingos as well as many other animals on your way.

Ol Doinyo Lengai
Ol Doinyo Lengai
$860 $675 $655 $615 $590 $550 $530 $515 Details
Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano is situated in one of the beautiful places of North Tanzania, near Lake Natron where hundreds of thousands of pink flamingos fly every year. Ol Doinyo Lengai is unique among active volcanoes in the East Africa and unique in the world which produces natrocarbonatite lava or “cold lava”. It has a dark-brown or black color in liquid state and a fluidity as water. This temperature is much lower than other lavas but, however, not so cool because it is approximately 510-600°C. In a hundred years Lengai has erupted about 15 times, the last time was in 2013. Fortunately, Ol Doinyo Lengai eruptions happen without victims because the volcano has relatively small size and it is situated rather far from nearest Maasai villages.

Ol Doinyo Lengai Climbing Tour

Day 1: ARUSHA - LAKE NATRON

Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in the morning and drive you to Lake Natron. The drive is fairly long and you will reach Lengai Safari Lodge some time after lunch. At the same time, the scenery on the way is picturesque and you will have an opportunity to see the local people, including Maasai tribesmen, as well as some African wildlife. After your check-in a guide will take you on a walking tour to Ngare Sero waterfall. The trail runs through a gorge and you will sometimes need to ford the stream, so we recommend that you wear sandals or the like to avoid constantly having to take your shoes off. A drive to the lakeshore, where you get a chance to capture its great scenery on camera takes place before you return to the Lodge for dinner and some rest.

Day 2TREKKING TO OL DOINYO LENGAI VOLCANO - ARUSHA

At 1:00 a.m. driver  takes you to the foot of Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano for the start of your climb. The footing on the slopes of the volcano can be treacherous, especially in the dark, so follow your guide without overtaking him. The trek is strenuous and takes between 7 and 12 hours depending on your fitness and resultant pace. The gradient is steep, so it is best to make a short stop with every 100 m or so of altitude gained in order to get acclimatized.
It is best to make a break for breakfast on the way to the top in order to regain some strength for the remainder of your Ol Doinyo Lengai climb. At the edge of the crater you will have reached the altitude of 2,960 m. Here, you can actually hear the Ol Doinyo Lengai lava flow inside the crator of the "Mountain of God".

The descent is easier and you may be tempted to move faster. This is, however, the time when most injuries happen, so mind your step! It is also advisable to change your fleece for a sun hat after dawn in order to avoid heatstroke.
Our driver will be awaiting you as you return to the foot of the mountain with cold drinks, ready to drive you back to the town of Arusha.

Ndarakwai Ranch
Ndarakwai Ranch
$691 $379 $275 $222 $191 - - - Details

A private reservation Ndarakwai Camp in Kilimanjaro region has a very difficult and tragic fate. The First World War took place in the hills of this area, significantly injuring the wildlife, so even now, traveling through the park, you can see the remains of the trenches of those times. After independence of Tanganyika in 1961, Ndarakwai became a place grazing, poaching and deforestation that nullified the population of elephants and other animals. Under the pressure of the local tribes, they were forced to leave these lands.

The territory of 11 000 acres that could turn into a wasteland, was saved only by the activity of Peter Jones who bought the land for a private reserve in 1995. Every year, thanks to the protection and care of employees of the Reserve, populations of elephants, zebras, eland, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, kudu, and even a small rare gerenuk actively began to recover. Since December 2010 you can meet here even lions and cheetahs. Today the area of Ndarakwai Lodge is a home for over 70 species of mammals and 300 species of birds.

Tarangire National Park Safari
Tarangire National Park Safari
$685 $395 $295 $250 $245 - - - Details

Tarangire National Park is primarily famous for the abundance of age-old baobabs and big families of elephants gathering in the vicinity of the main water source – the Tarangire River. Besides baby elephants and their parents the Tarangire is home to zebras, giraffes, hyenas, wart-hogs, buffalos and many other predators and ungulates.

The park will also be a treat for bird enthusiasts. More than 550 bird species abiding in the Tarangire National Park present ample opportunity for bird watching: brightly plumaged yellow necked spurfowls, white crowned shrikes and black necked weavers are among the most frequent sightings here.
